Man With Four Prior Battery Convictions Arrested for Aggravated Battery With a Deadly Weapon
Orvil Eugene Stone, 53, was arrested last week and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Stone reportedly beat the victim with a wooden stick, leaving bruises and lacerations. The beating only stopped when another resident of the house came into the room, allowing the victim to escape.
The victim told the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office that Stone’s abuse has been ongoing and that she defended herself from Stone with a box cutter.
Stone claimed the victim “stabbed” him with the box cutter on his chest, but he had no wounds or marks in that area.
Stone has four prior battery convictions.
Judge Phillip Pena granted the state’s motion for pretrial detention, and Stone will be held as his case forgoes.
