Montravious Malic Brazil, 22, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with domestic battery with a prior battery conviction.

On September 16, Brazil reportedly drove to the victim's residence during an argument and punched her in the face.

The victim’s injuries were consistent with the alleged events.

Bystanders on the scene told police that Brazil was known to be threatening and violent towards the victim.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies located Brazil traveling in his vehicle but weren’t able to arrest him after he fled on foot.

After Brazil escaped, he taunted the victim over the phone and told her he knew officers were looking for him.

A warrant for Brazil's arrest was served roughly two weeks after the incident.

Brazil has another pending sworn complaint charge from July for aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, but a warrant was never issued.

The report states that Brazil accused his seven-month pregnant girlfriend of cheating before biting her and hitting her with a shoe. Brazil ran away and was unable to be located by ACSO units.

In April 2023, Brazil was convicted of domestic battery by strangulation and property damage. Brazil punched the victim, slammed her to the ground, and choked her until she nearly lost consciousness. He also threw her phone, granting him the property damage conviction.

Brazil was sentenced to nine months in prison with 128 days time served and four years of supervised probation.

Brazil’s probation requirements included the completion of the Batterers Intervention Program.

Brazil’s bond is set at $50,000.
