Man With Two Domestic Battery Convictions to be Held in Pretrial Detention in Burglary/Battery Case

Mario Reshand Velazquez, 33, was arrested last week and charged with two counts of burglary and one count of battery 

Around 3 a.m., November 30, Velazquez knocked on the victim's window and the victim opened the patio door because they knew each other. When Velazquez got inside, he reportedly attempted to take the victim's phone and he slammed her on the ground, causing a glass bottle to shatter. The victim had visible injuries. 

Velazquez ran away after the victim yelled out for a family member in the house to help her. He was arrested around 8 p.m. the same day.

Velazquez has two domestic battery convictions from 2017 and 2020. 

Velazquez will be held in pretrial detention as his case proceeds.
