New Hampshire Man Arrested in Gainesville for False Imprisonment
Anthony Joseph Marinaro, 20, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with two counts of fraud, false imprisonment, alcohol possession by a person under 21 and cannabis possession.
Marinaro met the victim at Rowdy Reptile Bar, and they went back to a hotel room.
The arrest report states Marinaro requested something from the victim that made her uncomfortable. The report doesn’t specifically state what Marinaro asked.
The victim got up to leave the hotel room after Marinaro made her uncomfortable and he followed her. The victim opened the door, and Marinaro forced it shut.
While holding the door, Marinaro reportedly threatened the victim, stating, “You know what you came here for.”
The victim managed to get the door open and ran out of the hotel room to look for help.
Marinaro went back to the Rowdy Reptile Bar. Police found him with two fake drivers licenses, cannabis and illegally possessed alcohol.
Marinaro’s arrest report states he’s from Windham, New Hampshire
Marinaro told police “nothing happened.” He admitted to standing in front of the door but denied touching the door.
Marinaro was granted recognizance release. He’s been ordered to not contact the victim, not possess weapons and not contact minors unsupervised.
