Ocala Man With Stolen Vehicle Arrested by ACSO and Florida Highway Patrol for Hit and Run in Gainesville

Stanley Roy Teagle, 60, was arrested on March 28 and charged with a hit and run and grand theft.
The victim told Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Garrett Worth that Teagle hit her with his vehicle as she was walking into work and left the scene. It is unclear if the victim was severely injured, but she had a sharp pain coming from the left side of her body after the crash.
The incident occurred near SW 75th St.
Witnesses on the scene told Worth that Teagle quickly left the scene after hitting the victim. “It was noted the car accelerated over the curb, almost crashing into the bus stop so it could leave the area,” reported Worth.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Julio later observed Teagle driving near the scene of the crash. He learned from dispatch that Teagle’s vehicle was stolen out of Sumter County.
Upon being pulled over, Teagle told Julio, “He had been in a traffic crash but was unable to pull over."
Worth reported “It should be noted that while the vehicle inventory was being completed, there were multiple opened and unopened nitrous oxide silver containers throughout the vehicle. These containers, also known as ‘whippets,’ are commonly used to get high off of. When asked, Stanley stated they were not his and they were the vehicle's owners. At that time, Stanley did not appear to be impaired.”
Teagle was released on a $5,500 bond.
