Lukas Joel Navarro Valdivia, 20, was arrested last week and charged with sexual battery.
While the victim was in her room, Navarro Valdivia reportedly went inside and raped her. The victim told Navarro Valdivia to stop repeatedly.
Afterwards, the victim confronted Navarro Valdivia, and he stated he was trying to “get even with” her so they could have a “blank slate.”
The victim filed an online report with "Report Rape Gainesville."

Navarro Valdivia became aware the victim had reported him, and he begged her to drop the case. Navarro Valdivia pressured the victim into using her phone to send police text messages to drop the case.
The victim stated Navarro Valdivia has been investigated for sexual battery in the past and he may have more victims.

Navarro Valdivia told police the incident was “kind of rape-ish” and stated if the victim “feels like it was rape; that’s valid.”
Navarro Valdivia’s arrest report states he is a Santa Fe (SF) student.

SF College Associate President Dan Rodkin confirmed Navarro Valdivia’s enrollment, stating “Lukas is enrolled at SF College this spring semester. His first semester at SF was fall ’24.”
Navarro Valdivia’s pretrial detention motion states he entered the U.S. from Chile on a vacation visa in 2016. He would’ve been 12 or 13 years old at the time.
Navarro Valdivia’s arrest has been covered by several Chilean news outlets.
Judge Denise Ferrero denied the State Attorney’s Office’s motion for pretrial detention on Navarro Valdivia and set his bond at $200,000.
