St. Pete Man Arrested for Intimidation and Stalking in Gainesville

Walter Morris Porter, 43, was arrested on Tuesday on a warrant for aggravated stalking and two counts of intimidation.
Porter was charged via sworn complaint on December 17, 2024.
On December 7, 2024, Porter began harassing the victim over text after being served child support paperwork. Porter told the victim his girlfriend has “fire,” with the victim stating it was slang for “firearm.” Porter claimed the child wasn’t his and called the victim derogatory names.
On December 16, 2024, Porter sent the victim a voicemail where he stated, “These girls in St Pete ain't like those girls in Gainesville. Believe me when I say that. I've moved on. Don't make me take the next step and get those white folks in your business. St Pete law ain't like Gainesville law. You'll lose everybody in your house. This is my last time talking to you, I'm going to put those peoples on you"

Later in the day, Porter sent the victim an email threatening her life. Porter then sent the victim another voicemail where he threatened to take her son and "teach him to swim with the gators."

The victim has screenshots of all the text messages and emails Porter sent her.
The victim consistently blocked Porter, but he kept calling her with private phone numbers.
The victim sent police a Ring camera video showing Porter dropping off her belongings after exiting his car, despite being on probation for driving without a valid license and being barred from driving.
Porter’s bond is set at $250,000.
Porter has another open case where he was charged with harassment for threatening to kill an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) detention officer while on the phone with her. Porter hasn’t been booked for this case yet.
