On January 8, the State Attorney’s Office dropped 20-year-old Jason Howe’s child sexual abuse material case.

On December 20, 2024, Howe was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and charged with two counts of obscene material possession, two counts of obscene material distribution, and one count of using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

The FDLE hasn’t responded to records requests for Howe’s arrest report, but the Alachua Chronicle reported he had dozens of images of child sexual abuse material on Snapchat and exchanged graphic images with a minor.

Howe filed a motion to lower his bond on January 3 and received a recognizance release on January 8. The State Attorney’s Office dropped the charges the same day Howe was released.
