Edited: The article headline was updated to include the word "former." Gatorland Toyota management informed GnvInfo that Palmer had stopped working at the dealership over two weeks before his arrest.

Eric Palmer, 37, was arrested on Thursday and charged with domestic battery.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Matthew Freeman made contact with Palmer’s dad who reported his son slammed him into a stove over an argument about bills.

The victim’s injuries were consistent with the alleged events.

Palmer wrote on his first appearance that he works at Gainesville car dealership Gatorland Toyota, however, management said he hasn't worked there for over two weeks.

Palmer’s bond is set at $5,000.
