Trenton Woman Arrested in Newberry For Battery And Aggravated Assault
On Wednesday, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) arrested Sierra Dawn Parrish, 27, after she broke into her ex-boyfriend’s residence and battered him and his new girlfriend.
According to Parrish’s arrest report, she entered the house and was told by the female victim that she needed to leave. A verbal altercation ensued, and Parrish threw an Amazon package on the ground before entering a bedroom near the garage. A few moments later, she entered the garage, and the house owners followed her.
While in the garage, Parrish picked up a door prop, exited the garage, and walked to her vehicle. She proceeded to put her BMW in reverse and accelerate towards the women in the garage. She then reversed again, exited the vehicle, and began hitting her ex-boyfriend.
The woman attempted to get Parrish off of her boyfriend, and the two engaged in a physical altercation. The arrest form doesn’t say who won the fight, but Parrish left the scene shortly after and was apprehended by ACSO a few miles from the residence.
Deputy Shelaine Smith wrote on the arrest report. “At the time, [Parrish] appeared to have the ability to carry out the threat. The act…. created in the mind of [the female victim] a well-founded fear that the violence was about to take place. The assault was made with a deadly weapon.”
Parrish was charged with two counts of battery while committing a burglary and one count of aggravated assault.
Parrish has been given no bond, and the State Attorney's Office intends to file a motion of pretrial detention. She has had no previous adjudications.
