Jamie Christopher Coutu, 50, and Steven Michael Shuler, 28, find themselves facing similar charges, both having been arrested over the past two weeks for battering their mothers.

Coutu was arrested in High Springs on October 23 and charged with battery on a elderly person. This wasn’t the first time police had been called in for domestic incidents between Coutu and his mother. Coutu reportedly caused the victim open wounds and was given a $45,000 bond.

Shuler was arrested in Newberry on November 1 and charged with domestic battery. Shuler reportedly told police he hit his mother during an argument. He was released on recognizance.
