UF Student Arrested for Aggravated Stalking After Antisemitic Shooting Threat

Joonho Jun, 21, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated stalking.
Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Officer Tyler Allen reports that on February 22, Jun approached the victim and witness inside the Wawa on W. University Ave and “began making several anti-Semitic remarks and then began to use his hands to simulate a firearm and act like he was shooting the victim.”
The victim and witness left the store, but Jun followed them and continued making shooting motions. Jun tagged the victim in anti-Semitic Instagram posts later that evening.
The victim told police that he’d been dealing with antisemitism from Jun since he began attending the University of Florida (UF).
Jun’s first appearance order states he is a student at UF.
Jun has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.
