Waldo Man to be Held Throughout Trial; Facing Multiple Counts of Sexual Battery

Mario Alvaro Fernandez, 38, was arrested last week and charged with three counts of sexual battery. 

Fernandez sexually abused the victim for over half a year. 

Fernandez told police he knew why he was being arrested. 

Last year, Fernandez was arrested and charged with burglary and larceny. He pled no contest and was granted a withheld adjudication. Fernandez was sentenced to two years of probation. 

The State Attorney's Office passed a pretrial detention motion so Fernandez will be held in jail as his case is ongoing,
